Requirements for ultrasonic testing equipment for welds
The probe fixing guide system is arranged from left to right by longitudinal damage, transverse damage, delamination, and serial. The purpose of the ultrasonic testing system is to detect the weld of the straight seam submerged arc steel pipe and the 25mm parent material on both sides of the weld. The E11554L/2Q/4D/8TL system is equipped with 7 sets of probe racks, among which two sets of longitudinal detection systems (4 probes) independently detect the longitudinal defects inside and outside the weld area and the heat-affected zone of the weld; one set of transverse detection system (2 probes) detects the transverse defects inside and outside the weld and the heat-affected zone; two sets of thickness detection systems (4 probes) detect the parent material layering defects within 30mm on both sides of the weld through water spray coupling; two sets of serial detection systems (8 probes) mainly detect the incomplete penetration defects in the middle of the weld, and the distance of each set of probes can be adjusted according to the wall thickness and diameter of the steel pipe.

Standard requirements for ultrasonic flaw detection of welds
Ultrasonic automatic testing is to detect the welds, heat-affected zones, and 30mm welding and parent material defects on both sides of the welds of straight seam submerged arc welded steel pipes. The blind area for the detection of the pipe end can be set by the flaw detection system. Generally, the blind area for the detection of the pipe end is less than 150mm. The ultrasonic automatic detection comparison sample of the steel pipe should have 6 longitudinal N5 grooves and 2 transverse N5 grooves.

Application of ultrasonic testing of welds
Ultrasonic testing of steel pipe welds is mainly aimed at the detection of area defects generated by steel pipes during welding, such as slag inclusions, pores, cracks, and incomplete penetration.
