Differences Between Pre-galvanised And Hot-dip Galvanised Steel Pipes
Aug 20, 2024
1. Difference in process:Hot-dip galvanised pipes are galvanised by immersing the steel pipe in molten zinc, whereas pre-galvanised steel pipes are uniformly coated with zinc on the surface of the steel strip by an electroplating process.
2. Structural differences:Hot-dip galvanised pipe is a tubular product, whereas pre-galvanised steel pipe is a strip product with a larger width and a smaller thickness.

3. Different applications:Hot-dip galvanised pipes are mainly used for transporting liquids and gases, such as water supply pipes, oil pipelines, etc., while pre-galvanised steel pipes are mainly used for manufacturing various metal products, such as automotive parts, home appliances shells, etc.
4. Different anti-corrosion performance: hot galvanised pipe has better anti-corrosion performance due to thicker galvanised layer, while galvanised steel strip has relatively poor anti-corrosion performance due to thinner galvanised layer.
5. Different costs: hot galvanised pipe production process is relatively complex, high cost, while the production process of galvanised steel pipe is relatively simple, low cost.
