Chemical Composition: 321H Stainless Steel is an iron-based alloy whose major alloying elements include chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), titanium (Ti), and molybdenum (Mo). Its chemical composition allows it to perform well in high temperature and corrosive environments.
321H stainless steel is designed to operate in high-temperature environments and can typically be used in temperatures ranging from approximately 800°C (1470°F) to 1600°C (2910°F). It has stable properties at elevated temperatures, including some resistance to oxidation and creep.
321H stainless steel has good corrosion resistance in environments containing both oxidising and reducing gases. It has relatively good corrosion resistance to most organic and inorganic chemicals.
Intergranular Corrosion Resistance: 321H Stainless Steel is protected against intergranular corrosion during welding by the addition of titanium. This allows it to maintain its corrosion resistance after welding.
Weldability: Stainless Steel 321H has good weldability and can be processed by conventional welding methods such as shielded inert gas (TIG) and arc welding.
It should be noted that unlike 321 stainless steel, 321H is a variant with a higher carbon content.
