What’s Is LTCS Pipes?
What is the LTCS pipeline?
LTCS is the abbreviation for low temperature carbon steel pipe. LTCS (Low Temperature Carbon Steel) is used in piping systems when process fluid temperatures may fall below -20°F during operation. Low-temperature carbon steel is primarily used in low-temperature equipment such as chemical plants below -55°F, especially welded pressure vessels.

ASTM A333/A333M, Standard Specification for Seamless and Welded Steel Pipe for Cryogenic Service and Other Applications with Required Notch Toughness. It covers seamless and welded steel pipe used in cryogenic conditions up to minus 50° F (minus 45° C) ).
A333 is available in several grades, each using a different steelmaking method to improve the steel's impact properties at lower temperatures. Grade 1 and Grsde 6 are impact tested at -50°F, with Gr6 being the common grade.
