16Mn Alloy Steel Pipe
16Mn steel pipe is a widely used low-alloy high-strength structural steel. Its carbon content is 0.12% to 0.20%, and major alloying elements are added, including manganese, silicon, vanadium, niobium and titanium. The addition of these alloying elements gives 16Mn carbon steel pipes excellent strength and corrosion resistance.
The yield point of 16Mn seamless steel pipe is 343MPa, which is a steel type with a strength grade of 343MPa. Due to its low alloy content, 16Mn steel pipe has good welding performance and generally does not require preheating before welding. The total alloy content of this steel is less than 3%.
According to different strength levels, 16Mn steel pipes are divided into four grades: 300, 350, 400, and 450MPa. The "Q" in these grades stands for "qu", and the following number represents the minimum yield point (σs) value of the grade. For example, Q235 represents a steel grade with a minimum yield point of 235MPa.
In addition, these steels are divided into four grades: A, B, C, and D according to the increase in the content of impurity elements. Among them, A and B grade steel are usually called 16Mn. These grades are divided based on the content of impurity elements such as sulfur and phosphorus in the steel, as well as changes in carbon and manganese elements.
