A335 P12 Seamless Pipe Description
A335 P12 steel pipe is a chromium-molybdenum alloy seamless steel pipe under the ASTM standard. Its chemical composition has a chromium content of 1.0-1.5% and a molybdenum content of 0.44-0.65%, which makes it have excellent heat resistance and creep resistance. The material can still maintain stable mechanical strength under high temperature environment of 540°C, with yield strength ≥205MPa, tensile strength ≥415MPa, and elongation ≥30%. Compared with ordinary carbon steel pipes, the soothing reaction performance of P12 material is improved by about 40%, which is particularly suitable for use in sulfur-containing medium environments. The 15CrMoG material in the corresponding GB/T5310 standard in China has similar performance, but ASTM A335 P12 has more stringent requirements in welding process assessment and impact toughness.

- Hydraulic pressure test
Test pressure: calculated according to the formula (design pressure × 1.5, pressure holding ≥ 10 seconds), no leakage or permanent deformation.
- Nondestructive testing
Ultrasonic flaw detection (UT): detect internal cracks and slag inclusions, sensitivity meets ASTM E213, defect detection limit ≤ φ1.2mm; Eddy current flaw detection (ET): used for surface defect screening (sampling or full inspection).
Process and appearance quality
- Heat treatment verification
Normalizing (900–930℃) + tempering (700–730℃), grain size ≥ 7, hardness 140–220HB;
