What are the key mechanical properties of A53 Grade B Carbon Steel Pipe?
This is the ability of a material to resist stretching. For ASTM A53 Grade B carbon steel pipe, the minimum tensile strength, or lower limit of tensile strength, is 415 MPa (60,000 psi).This is the point of maximum stress in a material before it undergoes plastic deformation. For ASME S53A Grade B carbon steel pipe, the minimum yield strength (ie, lower yield strength limit) is 240 MPa (35,000 psi).This is the percentage by which a material can stretch during stretching. Longitudinal elongation refers to the ductility of the pipe in the longitudinal (i.e., axial) direction, and transverse elongation refers to the ductility of the pipe in the transverse (i.e., perpendicular to the axial) direction. For A53 Grade B carbon steel pipe, the longitudinal elongation is 30% and the transverse specimen is 20%.This is the ability of a material's surface to resist indentation. For A53 Grade B carbon steel pipe, the maximum hardness is 92HRB.
