Alloy Steel P1 Tubing and P1 Seamless Tubing are suitable for high temperature applications such as bending, flanging (vanstoning) and similar molding operations, as well as fusion welding in the power industry and petrochemical plants. ASME SA 335 Alloy Steel P1 Seamless Tubing is also known as ASTM A335 P1 chromium-molybdenum tubing because of its chemical composition of molybdenum (Mo) and chromium (Cr). Molybdenum maintains the strength as well as the elastic limit, wear resistance, impact quality and hardenability of P1 square tubes. Molybdenum is the single most effective additive for improving the high-temperature creep strength of seamless ASTM A335 Grade P1 alloy steel tubing.

A335 P1 Alloy Pipe Description
ASTM A335 P1 pipe consists of 1% chromium, carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon and molybdenum. It is a mild steel with a carbon content of 0.05 - 0.15%. The pipe sizes range from 1/8NB to 26NB. These pipes are seamless and can be used for welding applications. Since it is mild steel, it can be welded at room temperature.
