ASTMA53 is the American Society for Testing and Materials' specification for uncoated and hot-dip galvanized welded and seamless nominal steel pipes. There are two levels of materials, namely A and B. It is equivalent to the requirements of the national standard GB3087-99. Grade A is equivalent to No. 10 steel, and Grade B is equivalent to No. 20 steel. There are three types: F type - continuous butt welded pipe in grade A furnace; type E - resistance welded pipe of grade A and B; type S - seamless steel pipe of grade A and B.
