409 Stainless Steel Pipe Description
409 stainless steel is a ferritic steel. It has good mechanical properties and high temperature corrosion resistance. Grade 409 stainless steel is also available in highly stable forms such as grades S40920, S40930 and S40910. The two components of steel, niobium and titanium, provide stability to the steel. SS 409 outperforms the 410 martensitic grade containing 12% chromium and 3CR12, providing excellent resistance to exhaust gas and atmospheric corrosion.
