ASTM A213 TP316H Stainless Steel pipe
SS 316H steel pipe is composed of 16% chromium, 10% nickel and 2-3% molybdenum. This combination gives SS 316H pipe superior corrosion resistance compared to other steel grades such as 304 and 316L. Additionally, this grade has better tensile strength than regular stainless steel grades.
SS 316H pipe and fittings are particularly suitable for applications where a high degree of corrosion resistance or strength is required. They are often used in chemical processing plants because they can withstand the attack of chemicals and high temperatures without corroding or breaking. They are also commonly used as structural supports for buildings and in piping applications for water treatment systems.
The "H" of 316H stainless steel pipe means that its carbon content exceeds the standard content of SUS316. This increase in carbon content helps form more carbides, which increases the material's strength and stability at high temperatures. It is optimized for materials used in high temperature environments and has better high temperature strength than SUS316. When subjected to constant stress at high temperatures, SUS316H steel pipe has higher creep resistance and is able to maintain its shape and strength.
