5D Bend Description
5D bend refers to a pipe bend with a bending radius (R) equal to 5 times the nominal diameter (D) of the pipe (i.e. R=5D). For example, the bending radius of a 5D bend for a DN100 pipe is exactly 500 mm. It is a long radius elbow (longer than a standard 1.5D elbow) that optimizes fluid performance through a smooth arc.
Technical features:
- Low flow resistance design: The large bending radius significantly reduces turbulence, and the measured energy consumption of the pipeline system is reduced by 18%-23% (compared to 3D elbows), which is especially suitable for high pressure/high flow rate scenarios.
