Alloy steel pipe welding specification requirements
Feb 26, 2024
1. Preparation work before welding
Before welding alloy steel pipes, sufficient and detailed preparations are required. First, clean the surface of the alloy steel pipe to ensure that there are no impurities such as dirt, grease, and rust near the weld. Secondly, carry out material selection and preparation work, including selecting appropriate welding materials, selecting the correct electrodes, ensuring the moisture content of the welding materials, and checking the quality of the materials during the material preparation process. Finally, laboratory analysis and evaluation are performed to determine appropriate welding parameters.

2. Determination of welding parameters
Determining appropriate welding parameters is a key task, which determines the stability and reliability of welding quality. Correct selection of welding parameters such as welding current, welding time, and welding speed can effectively control the shape and size of the molten pool and avoid defects such as cracking and inclusions in the weld. At the same time, attention must be paid to controlling the welding heat input to avoid material deformation and cracks.

3. Welding process control
Adequate control and monitoring are required during the welding process to ensure the stability and reliability of welding quality. Welding personnel need to pay attention to controlling key parameters such as welding temperature, molten pool travel speed, electrode contact angle and pressure to ensure the stability of the welding process. At the same time, it is also necessary to monitor the quality of the welds in a timely manner, discover welding defects and repair them in time to ensure the quality of the welds.
4. Assessment of weld quality
Assessing weld quality requires certain standards and methods. The most common methods are non-destructive inspection and physical property testing of welds. Non-destructive testing methods include X-ray testing (RT), ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT) and eddy current testing (ET). Physical performance tests include tensile tests, impact tests, hardness tests, etc. Through these testing and evaluation methods, we can effectively judge whether the weld quality meets the specification requirements.
