Different Working Environments
Cryogenic ball valves are typically used for low-temperature media such as liquid oxygen (-196℃ to -46℃), liquid nitrogen, liquefied natural gas (LNG), and liquid methane. Standard-temperature ball valves apply to conventional media within -29℃ to 180℃.
Different Material Selection
Due to the unique properties of cryogenic media, cryogenic ball valves require specialized low-temperature materials like 304L/316L stainless steel, high-strength cryogenic alloys, and engineered plastics. Standard-temperature ball valves use broader material options, including common alloy steels, stainless steels, and silver-brazed alloys.
Different Sealing Performance
Cryogenic media may induce "acid washing effects," demanding superior sealing performance in cryogenic ball valves. Their seal structures and materials require specialized treatments to prevent seal failure. Standard-temperature valves have relatively lower sealing requirements.
Different Structural Designs
Cryogenic ball valves typically adopt flanged connections and fixed ball/seat configurations to ensure reliability and safety at low temperatures. Standard-temperature valves use simpler threaded, flanged, or other connections.
