How to avoid straight seam steel pipe breakage?
- Even though straight seam steel pipe is a versatile steel, that doesn't mean it can be combined with most materials. Below we take carbon steel and straight seam steel pipes as examples for a brief explanation:
- If you put it together with carbon steel products such as carbon steel pipes, some chemical reactions will occur because carbon steel pipes are different from stainless steel pipes. If they are placed together, the straight seam steel pipe will rust. If they come into contact with each other, there will be a potential difference and galvanic corrosion can occur, especially if there is moisture or stagnant water. Electrochemical corrosion mainly causes the oxidation reaction of steel. To avoid this reaction, do not place steel together.

- Ways to avoid cracking of longitudinally welded pipe: Manufacturers of longitudinally welded pipe often alter its properties by adding alloys to the material. After cold drawing, stress annealing is required to reduce the residual stress of the material to prevent the longitudinal welded pipe from cracking. Currently, longitudinal welded pipe manufacturers use cold drawing deformation to increase the strength of the metal, but this is at the expense of the metal's shape and toughness. Cold drawn longitudinal welded pipes are market based and have high dimensional accuracy and strength. Ensure that the deformation is within this range and reduce adverse effects on the material.
- If the deformation of the longitudinal welded pipe is very small, it cannot meet the flatness and dimensional accuracy requirements of the part, nor can it meet the strength requirements of the part. If the deformation is too large, the plasticity and toughness of the longitudinal welded pipe manufacturer will be greatly reduced, and the grains will be too long. Fiber structure cannot be formed. Metals have significant anisotropy. The axis of the cold drawn longitudinal welded pipe is parallel to the direction of grain elongation. The strength of cold drawn longitudinal welded pipe is perpendicular to the direction of grain extension, but the strength is reduced. The stress of the hydraulic cylinder exists in the radial direction of the longitudinal welded pipe, so the deformation is too large and the performance of the cold drawn pipe cannot be fully exerted.

Straight seam steel pipes should undergo mechanical property tests, tensile tests, bending tests, flattening tests, guide bending and hydraulic tests to meet standard requirements.
