Types of flange connections

Integral flange
It is generally used in the pipeline with higher pressure, and have a long neck, more than a whole casting molding, and the materials used are generally carbon steel, stainless steel and so on.
Flat welding flange
It is welded when connecting with container or pipeline. Because it is easy to assemble and cheap, it is often used in pipelines with low pressure and vibration.
Butt-welding flange
It has a very protruding high neck, hence the name high neck flange. The wall thickness of the protruding high neck gradually increases with the height to the same thickness and diameter of the pipe wall to be butted, which increases the strength of the flanges. Butt-welding flanges are mainly used in places where the environment changes a lot, such as pipelines with high temperature and high pressure and low temperature.

Loose Sleeve Flanges
Also known as the live flange, this flange is used in some non-ferrous metals and stainless steel pipelines, the connection is also achieved by welding, because it can be rotated to easily align the bolt holes, so it is mostly used in large-diameter pipelines and often need to be disassembled at the connection, but the loose flange pressure resistance is not high, so can only be used for low-pressure pipeline connection.
Threaded flange
This is a kind of non-welding flange, there are threads inside the flange, which requires the pipes connected inside to have external threads to realize the connection, so it has the advantage of easy installation and disassembly compared with other welding flanges. However, it is not suitable for use in extremely high or low temperature environments because its threads are prone to failure due to thermal expansion and contraction.
