P22 is a ferritic alloy seamless steel pipe, with chromium (Cr) and molybdenum (Mo) as its main alloying elements. Its unique alloy formula endows the steel pipe with excellent hot strength, oxidation resistance, hydrogen erosion resistance, and good weldability, making it suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure environments.
The chemical composition of P22 alloy steel pipe is as follows:
Carbon (C): 0.05-0.15 Balances strength and weldability; excessive amounts will reduce toughness.
Chromium (Cr): 2.0-2.5 Forms a Cr₂O₃ oxide film, providing oxidation resistance up to 600℃.
Molybdenum (Mo): 0.9-1.1 Solid solution strengthening, improving high-temperature creep resistance.
Manganese (Mn): 0.30-0.60 Deoxidizes and improves hot working properties.
Silicon (Si): 0.25-0.50 Enhances high-temperature oxidation resistance; excessive amounts may lead to brittleness.
Phosphorus (P): ≤0.025%. An impurity element; its content is limited to ensure plasticity and toughness.
Sulfur (S): ≤0.025%. Controls sulfide inclusions to reduce the risk of hot working cracking.
