API 5L X60 is a specification developed by the American Petroleum Institute (API) covering seamless and welded steel line pipe. It is designed for the transportation of oil, natural gas and water in the oil and gas industry. X60 refers to the minimum yield strength of steel, which is 60,000 psi (415 MPa). API 5L X60 Seamless Pipes have high tensile strength, making these pipes durable and helping them withstand high temperatures and pressures. API Class 5L X60 PSL1 Sour Service Pipe is ideal for use in sour services because it resists sulfur stress corrosion cracking. The API 5L X60 PSL2 material is also said to be non-flammable and resistant to shock and vibration that may occur during use in a variety of applications.
