The main difference between A106 Gr. B and A333 Gr. 6 is that A333-6 is a low-temperature carbon steel (LTCS) material, whereas A106-B is a carbon steel (CS) material.

The lower temperature to which A106 Gr B piping material can be subjected without impact testing and stress-ratio checking is -28.9°C (in accordance with ASME B31.3, Table 323.2.2A), whereas A106 Gr 6 material has been shown to be capable of being used at -46°C (refer to Table a-1M). , with a thickness not exceeding 12.7 mm), whereas A333 Gr 6 material has been shown to withstand temperatures of -46°C. In addition, A106-B pipe is seamless, whereas A333-6 pipe can be seamless or welded.
