Manufacturing process:
Seamless steel tubes are manufactured without welds by the process of billet heating, piercing, drawing, piercing or rolling. This gives seamless steel pipe a uniform structure, better mechanical properties and reliability.
Welded steel pipe is formed by bending a steel plate or strip into a pipe shape and then joining the edges of the plate together to form a pipe through a welding process. Welded steel pipes have welds at the weld seam, which may affect their mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.
Since seamless steel pipe has no weld seams, its overall structure is more uniform, providing higher strength and better pressure resistance. Seamless steel pipe is also able to maintain stable performance at high temperatures and pressures.
Welded steel pipe: Welded steel pipe has welds that may affect its mechanical properties in some cases, especially at high temperatures, high pressures or in corrosive environments. However, this effect can be minimized by proper welding process and welding material selection.
Areas of application:
Seamless steel tubes: Due to their high strength, uniformity and reliability, seamless steel tubes are often used in demanding applications such as oil and gas transportation, high temperature and high pressure equipment manufacturing, nuclear power plants etc.
Welded steel tubes: Welded steel tubes are used in applications where high strength and corrosion resistance are not as important, such as construction, water pipes, low-pressure gas piping, etc.
