What is A213 T91 equivalent to
Mar 20, 2025
What is A213 T91 equivalent to?
1. Domestic standards
China (GB 5310-95): 10Cr9Mo1VNb, the chemical composition is basically the same as T91, used to manufacture subcritical and supercritical boiler high-temperature parts (such as superheaters and reheaters) with metal wall temperature ≤ 625℃.
2. International standards
Japan (JIS G3462): STBA26, a modified 9Cr-1Mo steel suitable for boilers and heat exchangers.
Germany (DIN 17175): X10CrMoVNb9-1, corresponding to the chemical composition and high-temperature performance of T91, used for nuclear power and high-temperature pressure parts.
United States (ASME/SA-213): the original standard name SA-213 T91, which belongs to the ferritic alloy seamless pipe under the ASTM A213/A213M specification.
3. Performance and application equivalence
T91 is a third-generation heat-resistant steel based on 9Cr-1Mo steel. It strengthens high-temperature creep resistance by adding elements such as V, Nb, and N. Its design allowable stress is significantly higher than that of traditional T9 and 2.25Cr-1Mo steel in an environment above 550℃. It is mainly used in:
High-temperature superheaters and reheaters of power station boilers (wall temperature ≤ 625℃);
Supercritical boiler pipes and nuclear power high-temperature components.
Supplementary explanation
The chemical composition and process of T91 strictly control the content of Al and Ti to avoid the precipitation phase affecting the performance; its international equivalent materials must meet similar high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance requirements.
