What is steel pipe weld X-ray testing
Oct 11, 2024
At present, the radiographic inspection technology of steel pipe welds can be roughly divided into: X-ray film imaging and digital imaging.
X-ray inspection equipment requirements
Steel pipe weld radiographic inspection is that X-rays directly penetrate the weld material and produce suitable images on the radiographic inspection film or digital imaging medium. The blackness of the radiographic film shall not be less than 2.0 (the blackness of the weld shall not be less than 1.5); X-rays use the image quality meter specified by ISO, and the image quality meter is selected to correspond to the penetration thickness. The sensitivity of X-ray film is better than 2%, and the dynamic sensitivity of industrial television is better than 4%.

X-ray inspection technology requirements:
(1) The film review room should be clean, quiet, and of appropriate temperature. The light should be dark and soft.
(2) The inspection environment should maintain a certain temperature and humidity.
(3) In order to ensure the quality of the film, the quality of the development and fixing work as well as the quality and validity period of the film must be strictly guaranteed in accordance with the requirements.
(4) The safe irradiation of the darkroom should be determined regularly. Application of X-ray Testing X-ray testing of steel pipe welds is mainly aimed at volume defects generated in the steel pipe welding process, such as lack of fusion, beads, pores, cracks, incomplete penetration, tungsten inclusions and other defects.
