A335 P9 steel pipe is made of ferritic alloy steel containing molybdenum and chromium. The addition of these two elements allows the pipe to maintain excellent performance in high temperature applications.
Its yield strength is 205 MPa, tensile strength is 415 MPa, and elongation is approximately 30%. These elements also improve its wear resistance, impact quality, hardenability and elastic limit, enhance mechanical properties, prevent grain growth, reduce brittleness, increase creep strength at high temperatures and provide excellent resistance to softening.
In addition, the high chromium content of a335 p9 alloy steel pipe gives it excellent corrosion resistance, making it stable even in high-temperature environments. The corrosion resistance of ASTM A335 p9 carbon steel pipes is further improved by coating with black paint or anti-corrosion oil. It can also be galvanized to enhance its resistance to atmospheric corrosion.
