What is the ASTM standard equivalent to 1.4903 alloy pipe material
Jul 09, 2025
1.4903 steel pipe is a heat-resistant alloy steel pipe that meets the specification requirements of standard DIN17175.
1.4903, also known as X10CrMoVNb9-1, is a martensitic heat-resistant steel favored for its high strength, wear resistance and excellent mechanical properties. This material has excellent oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance at high temperatures, making it suitable for the manufacture of boilers, pressure vessels and other high-temperature application parts.
1. The equivalent ASTM standards for 1.4903 alloy pipe materials are ASME SA-213 T91 (or ASTM A213 T91) and ASME SA335 P91 (or ASTM A335 P91).
2. Core property matching
Similarity of chemical composition
Chromium-molybdenum-vanadium-niobium strengthening system: Both contain 9%Cr-1%Mo-V-Nb alloy combination, which improves high temperature strength through precipitation strengthening.
Carbon control range: C content is limited to 0.08%~0.12%, balancing strength and weldability.
High temperature performance equivalence
Oxidation resistance limit: Long-term service temperature ≤580℃ (short-term 620℃), meeting the needs of supercritical units.
Creep strength: 550℃/100,000 hours endurance strength ≥100 MPa (same level as T91).
Consistency of heat treatment process
Normalizing + tempering: Both use 1040~1100℃ oil quenching + 730~780℃ tempering process to ensure organizational stability.
