What is the equivalent of SA213 T2?
1. Chemical composition and corresponding domestic grades
SA213 T2 is a low carbon chromium-molybdenum alloy steel according to ASME standard, the main components are chromium (Cr) 0.50%~0.81% and molybdenum (Mo) 0.44%~0.65%. It is a low-alloy heat-resistant steel.
The domestic equivalent grade is 12CrMoG, the implementation of the standard GB/T 5310 (high-pressure boiler seamless steel pipe).
2. Comparison of standard specifications and characteristics
| Terms | SA213 T2(ASME) | 12CrMoG(GB/T 5310) |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | ASME SA-213/SA-213M | GB/T 5310 |
| Application | Boiler heating surface small diameter tube | high pressure boiler tube |
| Max temperature | ≤540℃ | ≤550℃ |
| Feature | Enhanced heat transfer with machinable internal threads | Conventional seamless steel tube process |
3. Application fields
SA213 T2 is mainly used for boiler superheater and reheater piping, especially for high-efficiency heat exchanging scenarios (such as supercritical units) that require internal thread structure.
12CrMoG is widely used in high-temperature pressurised piping systems in power and petrochemical industries.
4. Explanation of Performance Differences
Welding and processing: SA213 T2 has better welding performance than earlier similar materials due to its lower carbon content (≤0.15%).
High-temperature strength: 12CrMoG below 550 ℃ and SA213 T2 performance is basically the same, can meet the equivalent replacement needs.
Summary: SA213 T2 seamless steel pipe in China can be directly equivalent to 12CrMoG (GB/T 5310), the two in the chemical composition, temperature resistance and boiler scenarios in the application of a high degree of match!
